Lectionary Bible Study
Wednesdays at 3:30pm Come join us at Dinner's By Dawns (516 Broad St. Story City) for an advance look at the upcoming preaching texts from the Narrative Lectionary.
With so many different groups meeting in our church that end in 'ship'; fellowship, stewardship, worship, etc, we decided to create a group called the Yacht Club. Every few months this group of mostly adults (but sometimes children and youth as well) will get together for a fun activity, to enjoy each other's company and be in fellowship with one another. This past year some of these activities included; Pickles Bar in Kamrar, Ice Cream in Jewell, supper at Pizza Ranch in Ames and many more.
We have two WELCA (Women of the ELCA) groups that meet. One meets every 2nd Thursday afternoon at 2:00pm in the fellowship hall. The second meets every 3rd Wedneday evening at 7:30pm in the chapel. Both groups spend time in fellowship and Bible study. If you'd like more information about these two groups, please contact Veronica in the church office (515-733-4623).
Busy Hands is a community wide, all generational, group of folks that meet together to learn a new craft, cooking project or whatever gifts the group has to share with one another. They meet on the 4th Sunday of each month in the fellowship hall from 6-8pm.
If you enjoy sewing, quilting or engaging in lively conversation as you tie quilts (no experience necessary), we have a couple of quilting groups you could be a part of in our congregation. Both meet at different times through out the year for various projects. For more information about their meeting times, contact Veronica in the office (733-4623).
We are ready to pray for you and with you. If you'd like to join the Prayer Chain or submit prayer requests, please contact Veronica in the church office (515-733-4623).
Every member of St. Petri is assigned to a C.A.R.E. group (Congregational Action Reaching Everyone). C.A.R.E. groups are the front line for coordinating ministry in our congregation. They see we have volunteers to provide rides to church, deliver videotapes to home-bound, provide funeral luncheons for grieving families, usher at services, serve coffee and much more. Contact Veronica in the front office to find out which CARE Group you are a part of or would like to join.
